Hey everyone... we have to admit we did like Nova Scotia the best! We packed a bag & didn't know how long it would take to do the Cape Breton NP... we drove to the Causeway to cross onto the island & the gal at the Visitor Ctr got us a room at the halfway point & it worked out great!
We followed the coast til we picked up the Cabot Trail. Considered one of the top scenic hwys & it was impressive! They had a lot of overlooks & just kept taking pics...chat with people from everywhere! We never did see a whale or a moose... talked w/ people who did...
We got lucky with the motel (as it was sight unseen). Was clean & easy...
We had dinner at the Rusty Anchor & it was the best fish sandwich we had ever had... slept great after that!!!
The next morning we went the other half around. Mountains like home & so pretty.
Stopped at Nell's Corner & that was a favorite... lots of overlooks. Drove to Mary Ann falls & hiked...was great... also stopped at the Clucking Hen for cinnamon rolls & had a blast with the moose antlers.
A couple from KY were fun... pretty views around Bras d' Or lake & back to the Causeway... the only down side of the trip was the awful roads... they patch patches & dont do it well...poor purdie!
And my poor truck...pray it stays together!
